Obituary

Will Author Jackson, 71, of Lake Charles, La., was born to the late Horace Jackson, II and Marjorie Fisher Jackson, on May 19, 1949, in Caldwell, Texas.

Will was the second of 12 siblings with a strong leadership influence to all of his siblings. He was baptized at an early age when baptism was held in the country creek of Dime Box, Texas.  His confession of faith brought him to a place of peace in Yeshua HaMaschia/Jesus Christ.

He served his country in the United States Army prior to completing his degree at Prairie View A&M University. His 40 year career in the housing industry brought him recognition as, "the new sheriff in town." Will was a simple man of great integrity, held strong convictions, and loved, and was loved by his family dearly.

He leaves to celebrate his life, his wife, Evangelist Gracie Goodly Jackson; one daughter, Tina Sellers (LeMarion) Mitchell of Dallas, Texas; two bonus daughters, Yamekia Malveaux of Lake Charles, La. and Adrina Lister of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Duran Jackson of Spring, Texas and Dominic West of Houston, Texas; two bonus sons, LaBrandon Malveaux of Lake Charles, La. and Tyrone Lister of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Josephine (Richard) Hill of Dallas, Texas and Shirley (Floyd) Bradshaw of New Hampshire; one sister-in-law, Vanessa Jackson of Caldwell, Texas; four brothers, Alfred (Sybil) Jackson of Houston, Texas, Andrew Jackson of Dallas, Texas, Michael Jackson of Deanville, Texas and Donnie Ray Jackson of Deanville, Texas; one brother-in-law, James Tyler of Houston, Texas; two uncles, Thomas Shelton of Kansas City, KA and Albert Fisher (Dale) of Dallas, Texas; four aunts, Willie Mae Hardeman of Dallas, Texas, Jerlene Upshaw-Jackson of Lubbock, Texas, Annie Mae Chriesman of Houston, Texas and Anna (Clarence) Whetstone of Austin, TX;   nine grandchildren; one great grandson and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and long-time acquaintances.

Will is preceded in death by his parents, Horace Jackson, II and Marjorie Jackson; three brothers, Jonathan Wayne Jackson, Horace Jackson, III and Henry Jackson; three sisters, Diane Jackson Tyler, Dorothy Jackson and Ester Jackson; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Rubie Fisher; paternal grandparents, Horace Jackson and  Betty Shelton.
