William York Augustus, Sr., 72, departed this life on Monday, November 1, 2021, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA.  He was born April 16, 1949, to Eugene Augustus and Irma Jefferson Augustus in Lake Charles, LA.  He attended W. O. Boston High School and over the years was employed with Olin Chemicals, Lyondell Chemical Company and the City of Lake Charles until his retirement.  He enjoyed hunting and loved spending time with family.

He leaves to cherish his memories his sons, William Augustus, Jr. (Brynell), Gary Augustus, and son/nephew, Robert Williams, III all of Lake Charles, LA; one sister, Jennie Watley (Michael) of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren, great grandchildren, his furry friend, Skittles and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Irma Augustus; wife, Wanda Augustus; three brothers, Gary Augustus, Muril Augustus and Melvin Augustus; one grandchild, Paige Johnson and one great grandchild, Deontay Augustus.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
