William "Bill" Maddox Hastings

William Maddox Hastings, 79, departed this life on June 11, 2026, at Rosewood Nursing Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana, which was his home for the last eleven years. Bill, as he was commonly known, was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on August 27, 1946, to Lola Mae (Hebert) and Wiley Poynter Hastings, Sr. Bill worked as a Mortgage Investigator determining collections and bankruptcy accounts. In his spare time, he loved bowling. In his later years, he was often found in the TV room or dining hall at the nursing center socializing with his friends or playing BINGO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lola Mae and Wiley Hastings; two daughters, Holly Hastings Wray and Amy Hastings McGee; and his brother Skipper Hastings.

Left to cherish his memories are two daughters Elizabeth Hastings of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Heather Heidel of Westlake, Louisiana; one sister-in-law, Gary Hastings; two nephews, Layne Hastings and Trent Hastings, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Special thanks to the medical and administrative staff at Rosewood Nursing Center and to the staff at Harbor Hospice for their great care and support of our father. The family truly appreciates you all.
