Lafleur

Our brother, Willie "Billy" LaFleur, 77, was granted his wings on January 1, 2026 in Huntsville, Alabama. Billy was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on April 6, 1948, to the late Josephine Sinegal and Willie LaFleur, Sr. as the sixth child of ten children.
As a child, Billy was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a 1967 graduate Washington High School. After graduation, Billy enlisted into the United States Army on December 23, 1969, and moved up through the ranks to become a Staff Sergeant-E6. He received an Honorable Discharge on December 11, 1979, completing a total of nearly ten years combined service.
Billy later moved the Huntsville, Alabama, where he retired from PPG and Dunlop Tire Plant, which later became Goodyear Tire Company, as an Inspector. He was a skilled Electronic Instrument Repairman and Radio Relay Carrier Operator. He was known in his neighborhood as the "Neighborhood Husband" because of his carpentry skills and ability to repair anything.
Billy loved the fish and watch football games. He was a die hard LSU Football fan and loved the Washington Redskins, now known as Washington Commanders. He was very proud to be a 32nd Degree Prince Hall Mason.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Josephine LaFleur; his son, Byron LaFleur;two sisters, Betty Anderson and Josie Nelle LaFleur; five brothers, Lawrence, Woodrow, Wilbert, Horace, and August LaFleur.
Billy leaves to cherish his memories, two sisters, Peggy LaFleur of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Edith Louise Carlin-Boutte of Iowa, Louisiana; two sisters-in-law, Lula LaFleur of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Mary LaFleur of Oakland, California; two brothers-in-law, Darrell Goodly of Lake Charles, and Mark Boutte of Iowa, Louisiana; best friends, Jimmy Morris, Michael Cook, Ret. Judge Gene Thibodeaux, and Milton Bellard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 23, beginning with visitation of family and friends at 8am and Funeral Services following at 10am, both in the King's Funeral Home Chapel. Military Honors and burial will be held at the SWLA Veteran's Cemetery in Jennings, Louisiana, under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
