Willie James Rolax, 68, passed away on Saturday, Apr. 14, 2012. Willie James Rolax was born to John David Rolax and Lillian Lavine Rolax on July 1, 1943 in Whiteville, La. At an early age, he was baptized at Mount Zion Baptist Church, in Whiteville, La, under the leadership of Rev. Willie L. Humphrey. Willie graduated, in 1962, from Lincoln High School, in Morrow, La. In June of 1962, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served three years as an Airborne Paratrooper. After his discharge in 1965, Willie moved to Lake Charles and became a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the Rev. Horace Allison, he was a faithful member. In 1969, he married Eliza Stevens and they became the parents of two daughters, Nawina and Casaundra. Together, they joined Zion Temple Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Iseah Stevens. Willie was a member of the choir, male chorus, and the Deacon board. In 2004, Willie retired from Firestone / Bridgestone Synthetic Rubber Plant, as a Production Fork Lift Operator, after 30 years of service. Preceding Willie in death were his parents, John David and Lillian Rolax; and his brother, Joseph Tatman. His survivors include his wife of 43 years, Eliza Stevens Rolax; two daughters, Nawina (Kinshasa, Sr.) Romas, of Lake Charles and Casaundra (Anthony, Sr.) Hasty of Westlake; one brother, John David (Shirley) Rolax of Beaumont, TX; three sisters, Shirley Griffin, Willie Mae (Randolph) Valyan, all of Lake Charles, and Tressie Bazile of Bunkie; one aunt, Esther Wall of Lake Charles; four grandchildren, Denzel, Kinshasa Jr, and Detrick Romas and Chaznee Hasty.
